A man and his daughter from Haski village of Sindagi taluk in Vijayapura district were allegedly murdered by her husband’s relatives over a property issue in Karibhavi village in Surpur tauk of Yadgir district on Monday evening.

The police gave the names of the victims as Shankrappa (55) and Yankamma (35).

Both the deceased were facing the charge of murdering Siddanna, of Yankamma. They were released on bail on July 8.

The incident occurred when the deceased came to Karibhavi village on Monday to demand a portion in the property belonging to Siddanna, who was murdered in Sindagi police station limits six months ago, the police said.

The Kembhavi police, who registered the case against eight accused following a complaint by Hanumanthappa, brother of Yankamma, are still searching for the accused.

Superintendent of Police Vinayaka Patil visited the village on Tuesday.
