Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge has said that he has called for a report on the fire accident aboard the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express near Dharamtul Railway Station of Marigaon district in Assam in the early hours of Tuesday.

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, the Minister said that the train was in motion when the fire was noticed and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident. “I have called for a full report on the incident,” Mr. Kharge said. He said that 15 workers in the pantry car jumped to safety after the train came to a halt.

The fire engulfed the whole bogie and it took two hours for fire tenders to put out the flames. The pantry car was detached and the train was made its journey to New Delhi.
