Members of the Mandya Zilla Mahila Congress on Friday staged a protest against Prabhu Chavan, the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA, for zooming and viewing a picture of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on his mobile phone during the Legislative Assembly session in Belagavi.

The women activists staged the demonstration outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office here and urged the Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa to suspend Mr. Chavan from the House for the entire session.

“The BJP MLA has brought disrepute to the House and had set forth a bad precedence. The Assembly speaker should initiate disciplinary action against Mr. Chavan for his objectionable behaviour in the Assembly”, Lalitha Bhaskar, Mahila Congress president, told presspersons.
