Mahaveer Jayanti celebrated

Mahaveer Jayanti was celebrated across the district. Devotees took out a procession around the city, with women carrying idols of saints and men singing songs. Special rituals were organised in the Chandraprabhu Digambar Jain temple in Shah Gunj in Bidar.

Deputy Commissioner Anurag Tewari paid floral tributes to an image of Mahaveer at the DC office. MLA Rahim Khan and other leaders were present.

Bidar Jain Sanghatane organised ‘prakshal pooja’ and ‘panchavarna flag hoistingp. MP Bhagwant Khuba, community leaders Jinendra Tikke, Vijay Kumar Jain, Ashok Vanakudre and others were present. Cultural programmes were conducted.

S.B. Sajjanshetty inaugurated the celebrations in Karnataka PU College. Celebrations were held in offices, colleges and schools in the city and the taluks.
