Love failure: Man stabs girlfriend

A 25-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed by her spurned lover at Pandavapura in the district on Tuesday morning.

The victim, Ashwini of Pandavapura, sustained at least five stab wounds and has been rushed to a hospital in Mysuru.

According to police sources, her lover Ravi allegedly attacked her with a knife near her residence. However, local residents rescued her and shifted her to a nearby Government Hospital in Pandavapura. Later, she was referred to a hospital in Mysuru.

Ravi and Ashwini were in love for several months and their family members knew about it. However, lately, the Ashwini had begun avoiding him.

The police said that Ashwini’s condition is critical, while Ravi was absconding. The Pandavapura police have registered a case and are investigating.
