Lokayukta’s resignation sought

The Karnataka State Bar Council chairperson, P.P. Hegde, on Tuesday said advocates would hold a demonstration outside Lokayukta Y. Bhaskar Rao’s office in Bengaluru on Wednesday demanding his resignation.

Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Hegde sought Mr. Rao’s resignation on moral grounds for upholding the dignity of the institution in the wake of the alleged corruption scandal.

The Bar Council had passed a unanimous resolution here on Monday demanding the resignation of the Lokayukta.— Special Correspondent
