Lokayukta raids premises of seven officials

The Lokayukta police raided nearly 17 premises belonging to seven government officials and claimed to have unearthed illegal assets worth Rs. 7 crore. Simultaneous raids were conducted at Bangalore, Udupi and Mandya. Additional Director-General of Police (Lokayukta) H.N. Satyanarayana Rao said cases have been registered against the officials under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Lokayukta officials are scrutinising lockers and bank accounts and the value of illegal assets may go up.
