Lokayukta raids offices in Vijayapura

During the raid conducted by the Lokayukta in the houses and offices of two offices in Vijayapura and Bagalkot districts on Friday, Lokayukta officials recovered total property worth Rs. 82.46 lakh.

The officials who had allegedly amassed money disproportionate to their known source of income are Ishwarappa Dewar, Assistant Executive Engineer, Karnataka Town Water Supply and Sanitation Board, Vijayapura district; and Mallappa Kandhare, Executive Engineer, Jewargi Bank canal Division­2, Bhimarayangudi of Shahapur taluk in Yadgir district.

Mr. Dewar’s total earning came to Rs. 37 lakh while the property he owned was worth Rs. 75.86 lakh.

Officials recovered Rs. 46.08 lakh worth immovable property from the house/office of Mr. Kandhare, according to a release here.
