Lokayukta sleuths launched simultaneous raids on the residential premises of K.P. Parameshwarappa, Joint Director of District Industries Centre (DIC) at Belagavi on Saturday.

The investigations commenced in the morning with teams of Lokayukta police officials drawn from other districts entering Mr. Parameshwarappa’s residences at Bhagyanagar in the city, Bailhongal in Belagavi district, and Davangere and Chitradugra, to ascertain his assets. His family members were present at his home while the investigation was in progress.

Mr. Parameshwarappa had earlier served in the same capacity at Chitradurga before taking charge of the Belagavi office over a year ago. The investigating officials declined to share any information with the media and said the matter was being investigated, the details of which would be given to their higher authorities.

Interestingly, Lokayukta officials here denied of having knowledge of any such raid in the district today.
