Lokayukta police search seven premises of Uttara Kannada officials

The Lokayukta police on Wednesday searched seven premises of two government officials in Uttara Kannada district and found assets worth Rs. 1.5 crore that were disproportionate to their known sources of income, according to a press release.

The police searched the premises of Ashok Ramakrishna Bhat, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Mundagod, and found immovable assets worth Rs. 75 lakh and movable assets worth Rs. 21.25 lakh. His disproportionate assets were 178.7 per cent more than his known sources of income.

The Lokayukta police found that Mahesh Bairam Palekar, lineman, Honnavar Town Panchayat, had assets worth Rs. 35.52 lakh that were disproportionate to his known sources of income. His disproportionate assets were 178.7 per cent more than his known sources of income. The police found that he had immovable assets worth Rs. 36.6 lakh and movable assets worth Rs. 4.66 lakh.
