The Lokayukta police on Wednesday conducted raids on two government officials and unearthed assets worth Rs. 1.2 crore that were disproportionate to their known sources of income. The raids were conducted on at least six premises in Shimoga and Chitradurga. The officials have been identified as D. Rajanna, Labour Inspector, Chitradurga, and B. Neelappa, Group D employee, Women and Child Development Department, Shimoga. Mr. Rajanna was found to have immovable assets worth Rs. 72.39 lakh and movable assets of around Rs. 21.68 lakh. Mr. Neelappa was found to have immovable assets worth Rs. 34.85 lakh and movable assets worth Rs. 37 lakh. The Lokayukta police have registered cases against the officials under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
