Lightning kills three, injures three in Bidar village

Three members of a family were killed and three others were injured when lightning struck in Vanamarapalli village in Aurad taluk on Wednesday.

Sugandha Kashinath (55), her son Chandrakanth (25), and grandson Praveen (5), were charred to death when lightning struck the tree under which they had taken shelter. They were working in a soyabean field.

Ravi Amrut (28), his wife Latha (18) and Ravi’s brother Srikanth (22) suffered burn injuries. Ravi and Amrutha are being treated in Aurad, while Srikanth has been shifted to Bidar. Circle Inspector Siddappa Beelagi and sub-inspector Suresh Sagar rushed to the spot.

High intensity rainfall was recorded in Aurad, Humnabad and Bhalki taluks on Wednesday.
