A leopardess was found dead in a field on the outskirts of Chikkajogihalli village in Shikaripur taluk.
The animal was one year old. The farmers of Chikkajogihalli village spotted it on a private land and alerted Forest Department personnel, who reached the spot and upon close examination confirmed that the animal was dead. The leopard is suspected to have ventured into the land from the nearby Churchigundi minor forest. Its autopsy was conducted at a veterinary hospital. Forest officials said there were no external injuries on the carcass.
