Chairman of the Hyderabad Karnataka Region Development Board (HKRDB) Qamarul Islam, who is also the Municipal Administration and Minority Welfare Minister, has appealed to all legislators from Kalaburagi district to submit the list of the works to be taken up using the funds allocated to them by the HKRDB for 2015-16, before April 30.

Presiding over the Kalaburagi District HKRDB Advisory Committee meeting here on Saturday, Mr. Qamarul said that the HKRDB would be in a position to formulate the action plan of the micro and macro projects to be taken up during 2015-16 and submit it before the board for approval based on the list of works provided by the legislators.

After getting the approval of the board, the action plan would be placed before the Governor for final approval. Mr. Qamarul said that the legislators should ensure that the land for the works suggested by them was available and the referred land was free from all legal issues.

He clarified that the legislators should also ensure that all the works suggested by them should be taken up only in government land to avoid acquisition cost.

Referring to the construction of toilets in rural areas, Mr. Qamarul said that the funds for the projects would be released to the agencies taking up the construction of the toilets in rural areas only after confirming the availability of the land for the purpose.

He said that a decision has also been taken to prepare a perspective plan of the HKRDB for 2016-17 and 2017-18.
