Lecturers direct ire at MLCs

Members of Legislative Council Ganesh Karnik and Arun Shahapur, who represent teachers’ constituencies, were at the receiving end of striking lecturers on Thursday when they visited them at Freedom Park where they are staging hunger protest. One of the lecturers attempted to throw a slipper at the team headed by Mr. Karnik. The slipper, however, hit a camera and fell down. The lecturers directed their ire at the MLCs. Later in the afternoon, Mr. Karnik addressing a press conference said, “We do not blame them for their attitude. They expressed their anger and frustration against the government and had anticipated that we would bargain on their behalf,” he said
