The additional district and sessions court here has rejected the anticipatory bail application of Kolar MLA Varthur Prakash against whom a FIR was filed in connection with charges of land grab and atrocity on Dalits.
Dalit woman Channamma, a resident of Beglihosahalli in Kolar taluk, filed a complaint with Rural police station in which she alleged that Mr. Prakash and his associates have grabbed her family land by creating fake documents. She also alleged that Mr. Prakash had abused and threatened her of dire consequences if the issue was revealed.
The police have registered a case against Mr. Prakash and five associates including his brother’s son Rakshit on January 25 based on the complaint.
