KSRTC bus hits egg-laden truck

The driver and two passengers of a KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) bus were injured after the bus rammed into atruck which was transporting eggs from Hosapete to Bengaluru in Kallambella police station limits in the early hours of Saturday.

The police said that the truck was parked by the side of the road as one of its tyres was punctured. The KSRTC bus going from Davanagere to Bengaluru rammed into the truck around 4.30 a.m. on NH4 in Sira taluk of Tumakuru district.

The driver has been admitted to the Tumakuru district government hospital and the two passengers who had sustained minor injuries were treated and discharged from the hospital.

Due to the impact of the accident, eggs were seen scattered on the road. After hearing the news, several people from surrounding villages rushed to the spot and jostled to pick the unbroken eggs lying on the road. Two-wheeler riders too stopped and collected eggs.

A case has been registered in Kallambella police station.
