The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha took out a protest march here on Monday demanding closure of stone-crushing units functioning near Bettadahalli in Channarayapatna taluk.

They alleged that as many as eight units were operating in the area and many of them had no official sanction.

They took out a march from the Hemavati statue to the office of the Deputy Commissioner. Despite repeated complaints to the district administration, the officials concerned failed to initiate any steps to curb the activities, they alleged.

District president of the Sangha Kottur Srinivas, Vice-President G.T. Ramaswamy, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti leader Narayana Das and others led the protest march.
