The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) and Hasiru Sene will field candidates in two of the 28 Lok Sabha seats and support candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party in other seats.
The two farmers’ forums met in Bangalore on Monday to discuss the stand to be taken in the elections.
District units of these organisations have been asked to suggest two constituencies where they are strong enough to field candidates.
KRRS president Kodihalli Chandrashekar said leaders who participated in the meeting were against supporting either the Congress or the Bharatiya Janata Party as both these parties had worked against the interest of farming community during their tenure at the Centre.
Refusing to support the alternative front, the participants argued that leaders of regional parties, excepting the Left parties, were facing corruption charges.
Though there were reservations in supporting the AAP in view of the confusions among that party’s leaders on various issues, the KRRS found AAP to be the only possible alternative in the country, Mr. Chandrashekar added.
