Members of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene took out a procession and staged a dharna outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Monday in protest against the police action on farmers and women in Dharwad district. “Instead of not clearly presenting its case before the tribunal, the State government is trying to suppress the voice of farmers,” the protesters alleged. They demanded that the farmers arrested during the protest and kept in prisons be released without any conditions. They sought the resignation of Home Minister G. Parameshwara.
