KPCC names district in-charge leaders for ULB polls

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G. Parameshwara, who held a meeting of party office-bearers and leaders on Monday, finalised the list of district in-charge leaders and observers for selecting the candidates to contest in the elections to the 201 urban local bodies, including seven corporations, to be held on March 7.

Union Ministers M. Veerappa Moily, M. Mallikarjuna Kharge and K.H. Muniyappa, the former chief minister and MP N. Dharam Singh, Leaders of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly and the Council Siddaramaiah and S.R.Patil, respectively, former Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee presidents such as B. Janardhana Poojary, Allum Veerabhadrappa and R.V. Deshpande are some of the prominent district in-charge leaders who will select the Congress candidates.

The district-wise leaders and observers for the ULB elections are: Bagalkot and Bijapur (S.R.Patil and Mallikarjun Nagappa), Bangalore Rural and Chikkaballapur (Mr. Moily and S.R. Morey), Bangalore Urban (Ramalinga Reddy and T.V. Maruthi), Belgaum city and Uttara Kannada (R.V. Deshpande, Srinivas Mane and Prathapa Chandra Shetty), Belgaum Rural (K.J. George, Ajayakumar Sarnayak and Srinivas Mane), Bellary city and Bellary rural (Allum Veerabhadrappa, Anil Lad and R.V. Venkatesh).

Bidar (Dharam Singh and Prakash Rathod), Chikmaglur and Udupi (Jayaprakash Hegde and B.A. Hasanabba), Chitradurga (A. Krishnappa and K.S.L. Swamy), Dharwad Rural (Veeranna Mathikatti and Mahanthesh Koujalagi), Hubli-Dhward city (Dinesh Gundu Rao and Mahanthesh Koujalagi), Davangere (Shamanur Shivashankarappa and I.G. Sanadi), Dakshina Kannada (Janardhana Poojary and T. John), Gadag (H.K.Patil, Sadanand V. Danganavar). Gulbarga (M. Mallikarjun Kharge and Veerakumar Patil), Hassan (Motamma and D. Madegowda), Haveri (M.R. Seetharam and S.L. Ghotnekar), Kodagu (H.Vishwanath and Modamani), Kolar (K.H. Muniyappa and Naseer Ahmed), Koppa (Basavaraj Rayareddy and Quaji Arshad Ali), Mysore city and rural (Siddaramaiah and Sageer Ahmed), Chamarajanagar (Dhruvanarayan and M. Krishnappa), Mandya (V.R. Sudarshan and R.V. Devaraj), Raichur (N.S. Boseraju and Allum Prabhu Patil). Ramanagaram (D.K. Shivakumar and Munivenkata Reddy), Shimoga (Kagodu Thimmppa and A.V. Gayathri Gowda) and Tumkur (B.L.
