KPCC chief to Deve Gowda: expel your son

August 10, 2013 03:51 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:27 pm IST - Bangalore:

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G. Parameshwara on Friday challenged the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda to expel his son and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly H.D. Kumaraswamy from the Janata Dal (Secular) for aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Lok Sabha byelections to Bangalore Rural and Mandya constituencies.

Speaking to presspersons after attending a function organised to celebrate the anniversary of the Quit India movement, Dr. Parameshwara alleged the party had struck an “unholy alliance with a communal party” and betrayed the minorities in the country. He demanded that Mr. Gowda make clear his party’s stand on the BJP and clarify whether he will support Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for the post of Prime Minister. With such an alliance, the “true colour” of the party had been exposed.

Many attempts were being made to weaken the Congress, but they would not succeed, he said.
