Superintendent of Police Ram Nivas Sepat on Monday ordered the arrest of anti-social elements who disturbed the peace and harmony during the election process in the town on Sunday. The rowdies brandished lethal weapons such as swords and iron rods near the polling booth at Government College for Boys, and threatened to kill one Ashwin.Cases have been registered against five persons — Kumar, CMC member, Prasad Babu, Lakshminarayan, Sandeep and Santosh — and , Mr. Sepat said in a release on Monday.

Kumar has been arrested and produced before the court, the SP said.
