The Kolar police, under fire for their failure to arrest the main accused in the July 10 murder of a young woman and her daughter in an alleged case of dowry harassment, have appealed to the public to provide any information about the absconding person.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Srihari Baragur, who is the investigation officer in the case, in a press release on Tuesday, appealed to people to inform the police if they come across any clue about the whereabouts of S.K. Santhoshkumar, who along with his family members, has been accused of killing his wife C.B. Veena (23) and two-year-old daughter Deepthi at Keelukote here. The police also released a photo of the main accused.

Santhoshkumar was working as a librarian in the Government First Grade College at Soolibele in Hoskote taluk.

Home Minister K.J. George reportedly instructed Kolar Deputy Commissioner D.K. Ravi and Superintendent of Police Ram Nivas Sepat to take steps to arrest the accused, after a delegation of Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane met him on Monday.

People may contact Mr. Baragur (9480802620), Mr. Sepat (9480802601), Additional SP M.I. Jameel (9480802602) or the nearest police station to provide information about the accused.
