Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) leader Shobha Karandlaje campaigned for KJP candidate H. Ningappa from Tumkur Rural constituency at Hebbur in Kunigal taluk on Wednesday.
Addressing a gathering at Hebbur, she called upon the people to bring the KJP to power in the State if they wanted their voices to be heard in New Delhi.
She said that drinking water meant for Tumkur, Ramanagaram, Kolar and Bangalore was given to Tamil Nadu for agriculture.
She said that if people did not want such “injustice to be done to the State by Union government”, then they have to bring the KJP to power, which, according to the former Power Minister, will definitely resolve the Cauvery waters dispute between the two States. She said that the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal (Secular) have betrayed the people of the State and urged the voters to teach them lesson in the elections.
She said that BJP candidate, B. Suresh Gowda, and Janata Dal (S) candidate, D.C. Gowrishankar from Tumkur Rural, had betrayed KJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa. Mr. Suresh Gowda, she said, obtained more funds for his constituency and used to say that he considered Mr. Yeddyurappa as a father figure when Mr. Yeddyurappa was the Chief Minister.
Mr. Ningappa, party leader M.D. Lakshminarayana and party district president Hebbaka Ravi were present.
