Demanding the State Government to solve various issues relating to farmers, members of Bharatiya Kissan Sanga-Karnataka will lay siege to Survarna Soudha in Belagavi on December 9.
Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, Sangha State president Yalandur Ranganath regretted that the State Government has not settled the farmers issues speedily. “We are not demanding 100 per cent profit; we are seeking only 50 per cent profit to sustain our livelihood. If the farmer’s issues are ignored, the future years will be very difficult, and added that farmers will look for an alternative employment”.
He said the government has to settle several issues of farmers including support price of Rs. 150 per tonne for cane growers, Rs. 130 crore balance in respect of rain in North Karnataka and regularisation of bagair hukum lands.
