Shocked over the suicide of the wife of one of their colleagues in Delhi, employees of Kingfisher Airlines on Thursday organised a candlelight vigil and staged a silent protest in front of UB City.

The protesters said they were pained by the death of their colleague Manas Chakarvarti’s wife, Susmita, who hanged herself in her flat in Delhi Thursday afternoon.

“She was depressed over financial stress due to non-payment of her husband’s salary. This could happen to any of us. This vigil is to express solidarity with our colleague in these distressed times,” said one of the employees.
