Eight LKG students were injured when a layer of the concrete ceiling of their first-floor classroom fell on them in Nisarga Vidyaniketan School in Tyamagondlu near Nelamangala Friday afternoon.

Police said there were some 45 students in the classroom.

School staff rushed the seven boys and a girl to Tyamagondlu Government Hospital from where they were shifted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital in the city. Poorvik, Kishan, Subramanya, Kushal, Yashwath, Tejas, Likhita and Tulasiram were injured on their head, nose, hands and legs. They were discharged later.

Tyamagondlu Sub-Inspector K. Suresh said the management had drilled a hole to install a projector and this could have dislodged the ceiling plaster. The police have taken up a case of negligence.
