M. Mallikarjun Kharge, leader of the Congress Party in the Loka Sabha, said that Bharatiya Janata Party had chosen a “wrong person” with an anti-constitution and democracy mindset as the Chief Minster of Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Mr. Kharge said that Yogi Adityanath is a controversial politicians with his anti-democracy, anti-peace and hate speeches. He himself has had heated arguments with the new UP CM in the parliament when issues related to constitution rights and values came up for discussion. But, choosing such a controversial person was obviously a “wrong choice” by BJP leadership, though they have other “able persons” to become the CM, he added.

Mr. Khage, however, said that it’s the internal matter of the BJP, which has got full majority in the election.

He did not agree with the allegations made by BSP leader Mayawati that BJP won in UP because of defects in EMV machines and said that political parties must accept the results.

To a question, he said that the coming days will decide about entry of Priyanka Gandhi into the State politics as reported by a section of media.
