The Karnataka Administrative Tribunal on Wednesday stayed for two months or until further orders, the final list announced by the Karnataka Public Service Commission on March 21 for the 362 posts of gazetted probationers, Group A and B, in the 2011 batch.
A Bench of the tribunal comprising acting chairman Abhijit Dasgupta and judicial member Moose Kunhi Nayarmoole passed the interim order on a petition filed by Mythri, H.P.S, one of the selected candidates.
It was on Dr. Mythri’s representation to the Advocate-General that the State government had, last year, ordered a probe by the CID on allegations of various irregularities, including that a member of the KPSC and others had demanded bribes from her. In her petition before the KAT, Dr. Mythri had questioned publication of the final list without considering her objections to the provisional selection list published on March 5. She alleged that the publication of the final list was contrary to the law and the directions issued in October 2013 by the State government to the KPSC to redo valuation and interview based on the preliminary investigation report submitted by the CID stating that “some candidates had indulged in malpractice”.
She had claimed that she was selected to a lower post of executive officer/ assistant secretary owing to lesser marks awarded to her in the interview as a result of corruption and favouritism. Meanwhile, the KPSC notified that her “selection would be subject to further action of the commission.” The KPSC had also notified that the final selection list would be subject to litigations pending before the KAT.
