Karwar waterfall drowning: 3 more bodies recovered, 1 still missing

Three more bodies out of the four feared drowned were recovered by the Indian Navy near Karwar port on Monday, taking the death toll in the Karwar Chendiya waterfall drowning to five.

On Sunday, the bodies of two girls were recovered at Nagarmadi waterfalls immediately after the tragedy, while four persons, including two men, were missing.

Of around 50 picnickers from Goa, six could not come out following sudden rise in the water level, on Sunday afternoon.

The names of victims whose bodies were recovered are Samir Gavde, 32, Siddarth Chari, 22, and Marcelina Estebio, all from South Goa.

Renuka, 23, is still missing, the Margao police said on Monday.
