Higher Education Minister R.V. Deshpande said the State government would recommend an ideal location for establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology. He said a place having air and railways connectivity, good roods and road transport system, and proper infrastructure facilities would be considered.

He was speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines after inaugurating the Visvesvaraya Technological University’s annual youth festival on the Jnana Sangama campus here on Saturday.

On the possibility of the Cabinet expansion or the reshuffle of the portfolios, he said he was unaware of any such matter: “I have not gone to the Chief Minister requesting for change in portfolio, I am prepared to accomplish results with any portfolio.”
