A variety of crafts from Karnataka are being showcased to an international audience by Karnataka Tourism in Berlin.

The State, which is participating at the International Tourismus Borse, has depicted Channapatna’s lacquer ware, paintings showcasing styles of Lambani, Bidriware designs, kasuti and Navalgund dhurries, including four bright carpets laid over the floor, the Tourism Department said. The display was a departure from earlier shows where photographs were used to depict the State, a release said.

Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Arvind Jadhav is leading the delegation, which also includes G. Sathyavathi, Director, Tourism. “We are attempting to have tie-ups with German operators to promote Karnataka in Germany and ensure some leading airlines partner us,” Mr. Jadhav said.
