Persistent drought

He also told the delegation that Karnataka has been facing successive droughts for the past seven years and drinking water had become a concern. Despite that 1.8 tmcft of water was released on humanitarian considerations.

Mr. Siddaramaiah assured them of releasing 5 tmcft of water in the coming days and promised to release more in case of a good monsoon.

On the demand to complete the work on Rajoli Banda diversion scheme, the Chief Minister promised to convene a meeting of top officials of the Water Resources Department of both the States.
