Teams from the Karnataka and the Kerala police are expected here to question K. Shahul Hameed (27) alias ‘Paravai’ Badhusha who is in police custody since Monday.
As Badhusha is suspected to have procured 42 kg of explosives after allegedly getting instructions from ‘Kitchaan’ Bhukari, a sympathiser of the banned Al-Umma, and sent 25 kg of explosives to Bangalore after keeping the remaining explosives in a place here, the police are now questioning him about the motive behind the purchase and sending it to the neighbouring State.
“We want to know whether he was aware of the motive behind purchasing the explosives and are extracting the information from him about the possible contacts with other fundamentalists. He is cooperating with us,” said sources in the CB-CID.
As the explosives transported by him were reportedly used in the Malleswaram blast in Bangalore and the youth was caught by the CB-CID team on Saturday night when he was hiding at Anchal in Kerala, police teams from the neighbouring States will interrogate him.
A team of doctors from Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital conducted a health check on Badhusha at the CB-CID office at Sankar Colony here. “He is in good shape,” one of the team members said after screening Badhusha. His advocate was allowed to meet him at the CB-CID office.
