The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday upheld the State Governor’s action of placing Mangala Shridhar under suspension from the post of a member of the Karnataka Public Service Commission.

The then Governor H.R. Bhardhwaj had passed an order of suspension on May 14, 2014 after the Criminal Investigation Department filed a charge sheet against her on the charges of corruption in the process of selection of candidates to the posts of gazetted probationers.

She had questioned the suspension order contending that the Governor had violated the provisions of the Constitution in placing her under suspension.

Rejecting the contention, Justice Nagarathna held that the Governor's order was constitutionally valid.
