The monthly review meeting of the Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) in Kalaburagi on Tuesday witnessed several officials getting show-cause notices for remaining absent without obtaining prior permission from the zilla panchayat.

Chief Executive Officer of the Kalaburagi Zilla Panchayat Anirudh Sravan did not mince words while taking to task the officials for providing incomplete information and arriving late to the meeting.

Expressing displeasure over the inordinate delay by the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) for taking up construction works of anganwadi centres in the district, Mr. Sravan directed KRIDL officials to return the funds released for the projects.

The officials were directed to ensure timely completion of the multi-village drinking water supply scheme launched in Kamalapur village in Kalaburagi district and to install electricity lines to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply.

The District Health and Family Welfare Department officials were asked to take precautions to prevent spread of contagious diseases during the monsoon season and stock sufficient medicines in government hospitals and primary health centres in the district.

Mr. Sravan instructed officials to use the tankers provide by the district administration to supply drinking water to villages.

Zilla panchayat president Suvarna Malaji and vice-president Sobha Sirasagi were present.
