Kalaburagi street vendors to be relocated

The Municipal Administration and Minority Affairs Minister Qamarul Islam said that Kalaburagi City Corporation has started identifying suitable alternative spots in nine selected localities for relocating the shops of street vendors at affordable cost.

Speaking to presspersons in Kalaburagi on Sunday,Mr. Islam said that apart fromthis, the city corporation would also construct two shopping complexes in Gulbarga North and Gulbarga South Assembly constituencies to provide space for the street vendors. Thenineareas where the street vendors would be relocated included Super Market, Station bazaar area, Darga, Kanni Market and others.

Mr Islam said that the city corporation had conducted a survey of the streetvendorsand has already identified 2,000 plus street vendors for the relocation.
