The protest by a section of JSS Hospital employees who are seeking wage parity entered the sixth day on Saturday.
The protest is being held under the banner of the Mysore District Hospital and Nursing Home Workers' Union and supported by the district unit of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU).
District unit president of the CITU Balaji told The Hindu that there were nearly 800 employees at the hospital.
Of them, 600 had been paid government scale wages for many years. But, the remaining employees, including ward boys and ‘ayahs', had been denied even the minimum wages.
The employees urged the JSS Hospital management to withdraw the transfer of some of their office-bearers.
Mr. Balaji said the management of the hospital was yet to hold talks with the union.
