Janata Dal (Secular) activists protested in Belagavi on Wednesday against Pratap Simha, MP and BJP leader, for abusive comments about freedom fighters Kittur Channamma and Belavadi Mallamma allegedly made by his followers.

They shouted slogans against Mr. Simha and his supporters and sought legal action against them. They faulted Mr. Simha for not disciplining his followers who used such language.

Sapna Patil, president, Kumaraswamy Brigade, said that the MP’s supporters had insulted warrior queens on the Facebook page ‘Pratap Simha for CM.’ They should be arrested and tried, she said in a memorandum to the Chief Minister submitted through the DC office.

Pramod Patil, Archana Maistry, Prameela Hampannanavar, Subhash Pujeri, Mahantesh Ranagattimath, Shreeshail Phadgal and others were present.
