The forthcoming Assembly elections have started throwing dramatic political incidents. The latest one being an MLA and Janata Dal (Secular) candidate joining the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday.
MLA for Devarahipparagi A.S. Patil Nadahalli, who had associated himself with the Janata Dal (S) after being expelled from the Congress, crossed the floors again to join the BJP. Mr. Nadahalli’s name had figured on the first list of candidates announced by the JD(S) for the Assembly elections. He was supposed to contest on the JD(S) ticket from Muddebihal constituency.
Mr. Nadahalli joined the BJP in the presence of its State president B.S. Yeddyurappa in Bengaluru. According to sources, the BJP is likely to field him as its candidate.
Mr. Nadahalli had hit the headlines after he took on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as a ruling party member.
The former MLA for Madhugiri Ganga Hanumaiah too joined the BJP on the occasion.
