The Janata Dal (S) on Saturday released a 60-page booklet on the programmes and achievements of its State president H.D. Kumaraswamy during his tenure as Chief Minister.
Savitha of T. Narsipur taluk, Aalamma of Navalgund, and Gangadhara Shankara Gowda Patil in whose houses Mr. Kumaraswamy stayed during his gram vastavya (village stay) programme, released the booklet. They described how the programme changed the lives of people in rural areas. The booklet, Mr. Kumaraswamy said, would help people know the contribution of JD(S) for their welfare.
Mr. Kumaraswamy said the party was preparing for the Assembly elections. “Though other parties claimed that JD(S) performance in the ULBs polls was lacklustre, we feel the show was satisfactory,” he asserted.
The party would hold a convention of candidates who contested the ULB polls, on March 18 to discuss the strengthening the organisation, he said.
He said the party would release separate manifestos for Bangalore, tier II cities in the State, and rural areas; there would also be separate programmes for the youth. The party launched its website, Twitter handle and Facebook page to reach out to urban and tech-savvy electorate, as part of its poll preparations recently; a hi-tech van, specially designed for Mr. Kumaraswamy’s election campaign, has also been procured.
