The participants of Jagriti Yatra, an initiative that takes young leaders on a 15-day pan-India train journey, visited the city on Thursday.
To begin with, the yatra’s 450 participants visited the Sangeet Vidyalaya at Kalkeri near here, which provides education both academic and musical, as well as food and accommodation, to nearly 200 students free of cost.
The team consisted of candidates from India, Canada, Brazil, China and Afghanistan.
Jagriti Yatra board member Rewati Prabhu told presspersons that the main objective of the journey was to bring all budding entrepreneurs together.
The yatra’s main objective is to enable the Indian youth to understand the country better, by taking them across India by train, and find solutions to the problems plaguing the country. The initiative is sponsored by several multinational companies, Ms. Prabhu added.
Those who wish to participate in the yatra in the future should visit the initiative’s website ( >www.jagritiyatra.com ) and apply.
