It is a disappointment, says HKCCI

February 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - KALABURAGI:

The Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry has termed the Railway Budget as a disappointment to the people of Kalaburagi district. In a statement issued here on Thursday, secretary of the chamber Amarnath Patil said that the Railway Minister has not made any major announcement or substantial allocation for ongoing projects.

Although the budget had not brought any increase in passenger fares, Mr. Patil said that people expected the Railway Minister to reduce existing fares due to the steep fall in the price of crude oil and the fall in the price of diesel.

However, he welcomed other measures announced for improving railway infrastructure, safety, installation of CCTVs in women’s compartments, escalators at railway stations and other passenger amenities.

‘No projects have been sanctioned for Kalaburagi’
