A 23-year-old working in a leading IT company in Mysuru was abducted by her ‘boyfriend’ on Monday. But the city police traced them to Bengaluru within hours and brought them back.
The police said the woman, who works with Infosys, and the accused, Naveen, were friends and former classmates.
Both the them hail from Hosur in Tamil Nadu. Of late, the woman had developed differences with Naveen. On Monday, Naveen landed up in Mysuru in a car, along with two friends. He met the woman who was on her way to work and proposed to her. She is believed to have shunned his proposal, and this prompted him to bundle her into the car and speed away, the police said.
However, the girl’s colleagues, who were accompanying her, lodged a complaint with the police. The Hebbal police booked a case and took up the investigation.
The police traced the car in Bengaluru on Monday night and rescued the woman. Three persons have been arrested, including Naveen.
