Answering students’ tricky questions is always a difficult job and ISRO chairman A.S. Kiran Kumar found himself in such a situation on Monday at School Chandan in Laxmeshwar of Gadag district.

Then with a grin, he said that he did not have the answer to their question and asked them to work towards finding it out on their own by taking interest in space science.

Among the other usual questions about the Moon, the space, the moon mission and others, Mr. Kiran Kumar also had to face tricky questions like “Why is space infinite?, “Will the world come to an end one day?”, “What will happen if there is no moon?” and others.

The senior scientist urged the students who shot such questions at him to find it out on their own. In the close to interaction that began soon after introductory remarks by the Founder of School Chandan and Chairman of Karnataka State Forest Industries Corporation T. Eshwar, students from primary to the high school shot questions at Mr. Kiran Kumar.

They also thanked him for agreeing to be with them for the whole day.

As moderators Nikhil Sankanagoudra and Sukanya Halappanavar initiated the Q&A session. Other students posed supplementary questions. In between there were few questions to educationist Gururaj Karajagi on life skills and sociological problems.

In the evening, Mr. Kiran Kumar was honoured with ‘Chandanasri Award’ and felicitated by Mr. Eshwar and others.
