Inter-State gang held in Mandya

The district police have arrested nine members of an inter-State gang involved in thefts at jewellery shops and wine stores in various parts of the State. Ornaments worth lakhs of rupees have been seized .

The accused are Akram Hussain Saab (29), Devendra Kumar (55), Morsingh (30), Dinesh Thakur (30), Mohan Ther Singh (45), Chota Mohan Ther Singh (40), Shivanarayan Sharma (48), Hari Singh (34), and Rajendra Puri (37). SP Bhushan Gulabrao Borase said that the accused had committed 10 offences in Mandya, 18 in Mysuru, four in Hassan, and several in Bagalkote, Kodagu, Tumakuru and Gadag districts.
