Inter-Cricket Club T-20 tournament begins

With the Karnataka State Cricket Association approved Inter-Cricket Club T-20 tournament beginning at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday, cricket fans will have much in store for the next 16 days.

Cricket clubs from Hubballi, Dharwad and Belagavi will fight it out in the round robin league matches, playing seven matches each till May 8, when the final will be held. The total prize amount is Rs. 1 lakh. On Saturday, Pradeep Shettar, MLC, who is also a sports enthusiast, inaugurated the tournament by facing a few balls.

He said that such tournaments would provide exposure to local cricketing talent.

Convener of Dharwad Zone of KSCA Baba Bhusad, Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation councillor Altaf Kittur, president of Hubballi Sports Club Viranna Savadi, secretary Murugesh Hanchin, and BJP leader Lingaraj Patil were present.
