Several protestors, on Tuesday, took out a procession and demanded a high-level inquiry into the suicide of Kallappa Kadappa, worker of Gokak Mills.

Under the aegis of Ramesh Jarkiholi Abhimaningala Balaga, led by Belagavi District (Rural) Congress president Vinay Navalgatti, the protestors submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner.

Kallappa, a resident of Dhupdal village of Gokak taluk, who attempted to commit suicide allegedly out of frustration following closure of the mills at Gokak Falls, consumed poison in front of Deputy Commissioner N. Jayaram during a protest here on April 13. He succumbed four days later.
