Here is a chance for bright and young school students to win a chance to travel to National Aeronautics and Space Administration in the United States.
The Hindu , along with Space Kidz, presents ‘The Young Scientist India – 2015’ – to recognise bright and young school students. A one-of-its-kind science hunt programme in the country, students between classes IX and XII (and also in pre-university I and II, and intermediate first and second years) can participate by creating a project in the following five categories: Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronics, Robotics and Space Sciences.
The 25 best projects from each category will be chosen and these students will have to appear for the final round of the competition to be held on February 2 at Hindustan University, Chennai. The event will be judged by eminent professors and scientists. The winner and the winning school’s science teacher or principal will win a trip to NASA and they will also be a co-pilot for a day at a premium aviation school in the United States.
The runner-up will be awarded a ticket to Malaysia along with the principal or science teacher.
Entry is free and the contest is powered by Hindustan University. Students of any board can participate. Government school students from all over India are encouraged to participate and special prizes will be awarded to them. For registration, project submission and details: www.spacekidzindia.com.
The last date is January 20. Trophies and certificates will be given to all finalists. Participation certificates will be sent to all students.
